Dear Fellow Movers,
Before the dance begins, I’d like to share some thoughts I have about the Sunday Dance. This summer I stepped away from teaching to reflect and dream about where I want to take the class. It has been great to have time and space to envision what I’d like to offer the community and to include many of the things I have learned from each of you. I am excited about starting back up again with renewed energy, an updated focus and a new class name – “Moving to Self”.
Moving to Self is all about creating an environment that invites exploration and a deeper personal connection with inner and outer worlds. A Moving to Self class will always include a weekly theme and an opening and closing circle. I will continue to present invitations during the class that you are free to accept and try on and to provide amazing music that is structured to enhance your moving exploration. In a Moving to Self class you will find less structured exercises for duets or community dancing, and less Soul Motion class directive. I am very clear that I want to offer a class that gives you the freedom to explore movement on your own terms. And, I would like the flexibility to offer ideas and inspiration from several modalities and not be tied to one specific practice.
My plan is to offer a Soul Motion series at another time/day and possibly a different location later in the fall. I love the Soul Motion practice and the Sunday class is not the right venue for a more structured experience.
I welcome any and all questions about the new direction for Sunday. In one sense this is a re-turn to the dance community that was.

Where: Shelburne Town Hall – Rte. 7, Shelburne VT
(From Burlington, Rt7/Shelburne Rd. until intersection in Shelburne Village. At the light by the Mobil station go straight on Route 7 for a couple hundred more yards then go right into the police, fire department library complex. The town hall is on the right, enter through the Library Doors.
What to bring: Your curiosity! Please wear loose comfortable clothing that is easy to move in.
